Dreaming of Black Ecologies

Environmentalism (as a political project) has continued to erase Black women’s voices. Join Chelsea Frazier and Michael Riley for a conversation about why Black women environmental visual artists, writers, and community organizers are consistently being erased or ignored in environmental conversations despite being on the front-lines as the first to respond to various environmental catastrophes.

As WAKANDACON provides an entry-point for many to imagine ideal Black worlds, this conversation aims to build on this energy by mobilizing both Black feminist theory and environmental consciousness to critique our current reality and imagine Black worlds and ecologies unshackled by anti-blackness and sexism.
